Winner of the 2002 Circle of Excellence from the National Storytelling Network, Mr. Novak has many times been featured at the National Storytelling Festival, and at numerous festivals including the Timpanogos Festival, Tejas Festival, and Hawaiian Talking Island Festival. He has also brought his storytelling programs to regional theatres such as The Cincinnati Playhouse, The Kitchen Theatre in Ithaca, Houselights Theatre of Atlanta, and the North Carolina Stage Company. Internationally he has toured New Zealand, Hong Kong, and the Czech Republic. In 1995/96, David was Master Storyteller for the Disney Institute in Orlando, Florida.
David lives in Asheville, NC, where he is artistic director of A Telling Experience and adjunct instructor for the graduate storytelling program at Eastern Tennessee State University in Johnson City.
