"Faces in the Woods"

After moving to Asheville in 2007, Phil Cobin began to take advantage of the wonderful outdoor activities which abound there. While hiking with his dog Eddie near the Blue Ridge Parkway in early 2009, Phil came across a tree stump which to him had a striking resemblance to a creature he had seen in a movie the night before. After photographing this being from every possible angle, he began to search for other interesting lifelike forms in wood.
