Ginger Huebner creates works of art using the mediums of collage, chalk pastel, encaustic and other mixed media. She sees the subtle and grand moments of life through the lens of the natural world and the human body. Her work is a layering of her own life story, her education as an architect, the joys and pains of the creative process, the connections to others and a reverence for the natural world.
Ginger thrives on doing
commissioned work. She has collaborated with individuals, agencies and companies
to provide unique pieces of artwork. Her process is unique and open to her
client’s input. Ginger’s work can be seen at K2 Home in downtown Asheville,
PONSHOP in Fredericksburg, Virginia, and at her studio by appointment.
Her studio space is in Pink Dog Creative, www.pinkdog-creative.com, which sits in the heart of the River Arts District in Asheville.
In addition to her own studio work, Ginger is the founding director Roots + Wings School of Art which provides unique visual art education opportunities to children, families and adults. Roots and Wings School of Art serves in many capacities and offers classes taught by Ginger and other local artists. With a Masters in Teaching Visual Art and a Bachelor of Architecture, Ginger brings a unique perspective to the field of art education. She has taught a wide spectrum of ages in a variety of environments.
Ginger lives in Asheville with her husband Scott and two children, Mia and Felix.
