Originally from New York City, Phil Cobin moved to Stockbridge, Massachusetts as a young teen. His love for photography began with a college course there twenty-five years ago and has never waned.
After moving to Asheville in 2007, Phil began to take advantage of the wonderful outdoor activities which abound there. While hiking with his dog Eddie near the Blue Ridge Parkway in early 2009, Phil came across a tree stump which to him had a striking resemblance to a creature he had seen in a movie the night before. After photographing this being from every possible angle, he began to search for other interesting lifelike forms in wood. For the past year and a half Phil has ventured up the Parkway in search of more images for this project. Of the thousands of images he has captured in that time, these twenty or so possess the most character and emotion.
Named Faces in the Woods, this project continues to be a very personal and enjoyable pursuit for Phil.

product is guaranteed. If you are not delighted with your print, you may return
it for a full refund less shipping. The returned print must be received in
perfect condition to receive the full refund. If the print is returned damaged,
the cost of printing will be deducted from the refund. If for some reason the print arrives damaged, you may return
it and receive a replacement. Your shipping costs will also be reimbursed.
